Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Hoverping browser extension ("Hoverping", "we", "us") handles information. We built Hoverping to be private by design: the core feature works entirely inside your browser.

The short version: Hoverping detects phone numbers locally in your browser. We do not send the numbers or web pages you view to any server — ours or anyone else's. We have no analytics inside the extension. The only personal data involved is the email and payment details you provide if you choose to subscribe to Pro, which are handled by our payment processor.

1. Information we do NOT collect

The phone numbers Hoverping detects on web pages.
The content, URLs, or text of the pages you visit.
Your browsing history.
Any analytics, tracking, or behavioral data inside the extension.

Number detection, highlighting, and the "extract numbers" feature all run locally on the page you are viewing. The results never leave your device unless you yourself export them to a file you control.

2. Information processed locally on your device

Settings (enabled state, default country, highlight options, messenger choices, default message, per-site preferences). These are stored using the browser's storage.sync so they can sync across your own signed-in browser profile. They are not transmitted to us.
Daily usage counter for the free plan limit, stored locally in your browser.
Exports (CSV / vCard) are generated on your device and saved directly to your computer. We never receive them.

3. Payments and the Pro plan

If you choose to upgrade to Pro, payments are processed by ExtensionPay, which uses Stripe as the payment provider. To manage your subscription, ExtensionPay/Stripe collect your email address and payment information. Hoverping does not store or have access to your card details. Please review:

The extension checks your paid/unpaid status with ExtensionPay to unlock Pro features. This check does not include any of the numbers or pages you view.

4. Permissions we request and why

storage — to save your settings and the free-plan usage counter.
contextMenus — to add the optional right-click "Open selection in WhatsApp" item.
activeTab — so the popup can read the current tab when you ask it to extract numbers.
Access to web pages — so the extension can detect and highlight phone numbers on the sites you visit. This processing is local.
Access to extensionpay.com — required by ExtensionPay to verify your subscription status.

5. Third parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for advertising. The only third parties involved are ExtensionPay and Stripe, and only for processing Pro subscriptions, as described above.

6. Data retention

Settings and local data remain on your device until you remove the extension or clear them. Subscription data is retained by ExtensionPay/Stripe according to their policies and applicable law.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location (including under the GDPR in the EU and the LGPD in Brazil), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. Because Hoverping itself does not collect personal data, requests relating to subscription/payment data should be directed to us and, where applicable, to Stripe/ExtensionPay. 8. Children

Hoverping is not directed to children and is intended for general business and personal communication use.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
